One of the main Brazilian names in the light heavyweight category, the former champion Mauritius Shogun He is going through, by far, the worst moment of his career, with four defeats in his last five fights. Given this, Shogun bet on a change of scenery and prepared for UFC 190 at King's MMA, by former Chute Boxe Rafael Cordeiro. The bet had an effect and, according to its technicians, in exclusive interviews with SUPER FIGHTS, the fighter will arrive on tiptoe for the rematch against Rogério Minotouro, on Saturday (01).

“Shogun is very well trained. The Master (Rafael Cordeiro) dedicated a lot to his preparation. He's doing the right thing. He even went to Mexico to help me prepare for the fight against Velasquez. And Shogun is an impressive talent. He's very good and, when he trains, I don't think anyone can beat him. When you spar with him, there's no such thing as weight. If I mess up, he’ll knock me out,” said the heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.

Rafael Cordeiro highlighted the intensity of the work done with Shogun and ruled out any type of justification based on the fighter's preparation. “It was a job well done, Shogun is prepared for anything. There will be no excuses on Saturday. 'Ah, you didn't train that...', you did! He trained physically, trained muay thai, trained jiu-jitsu… So, Saturday will be a great day, a new fight, a new event, but we are preparing to have the same result in the end: victory” , he assured.

Mauritius Shogun takes part in the co-main fight of UFC 190, next Saturday (01), at the HSBC Arena, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The former light heavyweight champion faces his compatriot Rogério Minotouro in a rematch of the historic fight for the PRIDE GP in 2005. In the main fight of the event, the bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey puts its title on the line against the undefeated Brazilian challenger Beth Pitbull.
