Paulo Borrachinha has once again drawn attention. In an interview with 'Ag Fight', the Brazilian made it clear that he does not intend to perform at UFC Rio, scheduled to take place on October 11th in Rio de Janeiro. For the Brazilian, the event, officially announced last Wednesday (30), is not up to the level he has reached in his career.
"No (it makes sense to fight at UFC Rio). Get me out of there. It doesn't make any sense. It's a small card and all. Well, I don't think the UFC will put me there based on what I earn. Yeah, I earn well (laughs)," Borrachinha said.

Borrachinha's stance is nothing new. The fighter had previously caused controversy by stating that he doesn't depend on the support of Brazilian fans. However, he backtracked and accused the outlet of taking his statements out of context.
Without a win since 2022, Borrachinha returned to winning ways at UFC Abu Dhabi , when he defeated Roman Kopylov on points.
In an interview still in the octagon, the fighter asked for the opportunity to face Khamzat Chimaev and reinforced his rivalry with the Emirati fighter after the athlete sent a message to his wife. According to the fighter from Minas Gerais, 'Lobo' will be pursued in the UFC.
