Nassourdine Imavov didn't like it at all UFC decision to announce Caio Borralho as a reserve fighter for the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) belt dispute between Dricus du Plessis e Khamzat Shimaev, scheduled for UFC 319, on August 16. Current number 1 in the division's ranking, the Frenchman took to social media to openly criticize the choice and take a dig at the Brazilian, his next opponent.

“Reserve? Caio Borralho "It's only good for taking my leftovers. You will always come after me. Always behind me. It's your destiny," Imavov wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The provocation heats up the backstage of the main fight even more. UFC Paris, scheduled for September 6, 2025, at the Accor Arena, in the French capital. Caio Borralho e Nassourdine Imavov face each other in a duel that should define the next challenger for the category title, as long as there are no problems with Du Plessis and Chimaev.

While Imavov is on a four-fight winning streak and leads the middleweight rankings, Borralho is ranked sixth and is undefeated in the UFC, with seven consecutive victories. The Brazilian was named as the reserve fighter for UFC 319, which displeased the Frenchman, who was initially considered for the position.
