Rivalry between Borrachinha and Chimaev began in 2022

The montage published by Borrachinha is another chapter in the intense rivalry that has been going on since 2022, when the two clashed at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas, USA. The tension nearly escalated into a physical confrontation, and the tension between the two has only worsened since then.

Initially scheduled to face each other in the UFC 294, in October 2023, the duel was canceled due to an infection in Borrachinha's elbow. However, the flame of the dispute was rekindled in the months leading up to UFC 318, held last Saturday (19).

Chimaev, in turn, responded with irony on X. The Chechen even stated that "she wrote to me, my dear," insinuating that the messages came from the Brazilian's girlfriend. Borrachinha later categorically denied this and called his rival a "coward" and a "liar."
