In July 2013, the weigh-in for the first fight between Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman was marked by the “seal” between the then Brazilian champion and the North American. Just over two years later, the lightweights Kevin Lee and James Moontasri once again starred in a similar scene after passing through the scales and almost kissing at the official weigh-in for UFC Fight Night 71, held on Tuesday night (14).
After confirming their weight without any problems, Lee and Moontasri, who are fighting in the second fight on the main card of the night, even greeted each other, but soon began a tense confrontation. Quickly, the two put their noses together and exchanged stares for a few seconds until the intervention of the matchmakers Joe Silva, who follows everything closely. Even after being separated, the fighters continued to challenge each other and, after indicating that they would leave the stage, they approached each other again and created a little confusion.
UFC Fight Night 71 takes place this Wednesday (15), in San Diego (USA). In the main fight of the night, former heavyweight champion Frank mir stares Todd Duffee. In the co-main fight of the event, the former lightweight champion of the now defunct Strikeforce Josh thomson faces the winner of the 13th season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Tony Ferguson.
