The relationship between Ian Gary and the Chute Boxe Diego Lima team started with admiration and quickly turned into a partnership. A declared fan of Charles of the Bronx, the Irish fighter said that his affection for the Brazilian was the main reason he joined the team. In a video posted on Chute Boxe's official YouTube channel, Garry revealed that he has been following Charles for many years and has always admired the way the team cares for the former champion. According to the welterweight (up to 77kg), the energy and support the team demonstrates during fight weeks won him over and sparked his desire to join the group.

"I'm a fan of Charles. I've been for as many years as I can remember, and being a fan of Charles is part of the reason I came to Chute Boxe. I see the energy, I see the compassion, the care, the love they have for him during fight weeks, and that's why I'm here. That's why I came to this team," said the Irishman.

Garry says his first contact with Diego Lima was during International Fight Week, when he approached the coach directly to express his desire to train at the academy. He expressed his admiration for the team, and from that moment, his journey with the team began.

“The first time I spoke to Diego was when I met them at International Fight Week, and I went straight up to them and said, 'Hey, I want to come to your gym, I want to train with you guys, I have nothing but love for you guys,' and the rest is history.” Ian Gary.
