UFC set to return to Brazil with event in Rio de Janeiro in 2025, says website

The UFC is currently negotiating an event in Brazil for October, scheduled for the 11th and planned to be located at the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The details have not yet been finalized, but the card is expected to be a 'Fight Night', a non-pay-per-view (PPV) event. The information was released by 'MMA Fighting'.

The confirmation would mark the organization's return to the country after 17 months, since the UFC 301 in May 2024, when Alexandre pantoja defended the flyweight belt against Steve Erceg at the same place.

The choice of Rio is not accidental. The city is the historical epicenter of Brazilian MMA and has hosted emblematic events, such as the knockout of Anderson Silva about Yushin Okami and the 'jump' of José Aldo in the crowd to overcome Chad Mendes.

Dana White has also confirmed that he would be negotiating an event in the country in 2025. At the time, however, the president of the organization had not yet confirmed the location. The Farmasi Arena has a capacity for 18.000 people.
