After being heavily criticized for his performance in the defeat to Beneil Dariush, Renato Moicano already has a solution to improve his physical fitness. The Brazilian, who got very tired and ended up overcome No. UFC 317, did not offer any excuses, but indicated, in an ironic way, what he intends to adjust in his preparation for the next round: a trip to Georgia.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Moicano acknowledged that he made a mistake during the camp and admitted to neglecting resistance and conditioning training. In a humorous way, he suggested that training with Merab Dvalishvili, known for his endless breath, would be the key to recovering the 'gas' and avoiding new stumbles.

“Just do the 'M' for 'my gas is gone'. This camp, I don't know why I didn't train cardio. I trained mitts, sparring, grappling, but I missed the cardio. I have to send two, three years to Georgia. People used to send them to Dagestan, but now they're going to Georgia with Merab Dvalishvili, infinite gas… I don’t even smoke, but it would be better if I did, because I would have an excuse. There was nothing left for Betinha.”, said Moicano.

Before the duel, Renato Moicano was full of confidence, however, when he entered the cage he was surprised by some of Dariush's attributes. The Brazilian analyzed his defeat and stated that, despite it being a balanced duel, he recognized his opponent's physical strength and quality on the ground.

“It was an even fight, I won the first round, lost the second and third, but it was an even fight. Really, I needed my lungs to be in shape, otherwise I would have beaten this old guy. 'Senil' Dariush was slow as hell, but he's good at jiu-jitsu and he's very strong, the son of a bitch, he has the strength of an old man,” concluded Moicano.

At 36, Renato Moicano was experiencing his best phase in the lightweight division (up to 70,2 kg), accumulating four consecutive victories by interruption. However, the positive sequence was interrupted after the unforeseen event in UFC 311, in January, when Arman Tsarukyan got injured before the weigh-in, and Moicano ended up facing Islam makhachev last minute, being finished in the first round. With the recent defeat to Beneil Dariush, the Brazilian now has two consecutive setbacks in the organization.
