After winning four consecutive fights against three Brazilian athletes (Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort), Chris Weidman has assumed the role of “Brazil’s number one enemy” in the UFC, and, apparently, the middleweight champion is trying hard to justify his fame. Asked about the duel that promises to stop the country, the featherweight belt dispute between José Aldo e Conor McGregor, Weidman was emphatic and said that the Irishman will win, with the right to a technical knockout against the man from Manaus.
“I love Aldo, I'm a big fan of his, but I think McGregor will win the fight. I think he wins by knockout at the end of the second round. It's a crazy thing. Believe me, I know the world will end if he wins this fight. Everyone wants to see him lose, except the UFC. I think he is very big for his weight, very athletic, big and confident”, said the American, in an interview with the North American channel “FOX Sports 1”.
The long-awaited title fight between José Aldo e Conor McGregor takes place on July 11th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). The duel is the main fight of UFC 189, whose co-main event is the welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler e Rory McDonald.
