Jean Silva is identified as a 'real threat' to Alexander Volkanovski by new UFC star

Newly arrived at the UFC after 17 fights on the Bellator and PFL circuit, Aaron Pico surprised by defending that Jean Silva compete for the next title against Alexander Volkanovsky. In an interview with 'Submission Radio', the American stated that 'Lord's' performance — with five quick victories in the organization — against Bryce mitchell justifies the opportunity, even in the face of the dispute with the undefeated Movsar Evloev.

In his first appearance as a UFC fighter, Aaron Pico did not hesitate to give his opinion on the future of the division. After the UFC 314, an event held on April 12 in Miami, where Volkanovski regained the belt by defeating Diego lopes, the American highlighted that Jean deserves to jump ahead of Evloev.

“He’s 5-0 in the UFC, with all of his wins coming by submission or knockout. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got his shot now,” said Pico, who described the Russian’s style as “boring for the fans.”

The Brazilian, who debuted in the organization in 2024, finished Bryce mitchell on the main card of UFC 314 to reaffirm the vision of one of the most electrifying names in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg).

Next steps for Jean Silva and Movsar Evloev in the UFC

Jean Silva declared immediate interest in the belt. On his official account on 'X' (former Twitter), he believes he has already overcome the organization's main challenges to guarantee a chance at the company's 'gold'.

Evloev, in turn, was even shown in a fight against Pico, but is awaiting the organization's position on the fight against Alexander Volkanovsky.
