Weidman reveals problem before facing Belfort: 'I felt like going to the bathroom'

Before his great performance and victory against Vitor Belfort, Chris Weidman said he was in a tight spot and worried about not 'pooping himself' during the fight

Chris Weidman enters the OctagonChris Weidman overwhelmingly defeated Vitor belfort at UFC 187, last Saturday (23), and defended the organization's middleweight belt. However, for a very short time, a very unusual obstacle almost got in the way of his good performance. The fighter revealed that he had a huge urge to go to the bathroom as soon as he entered the octagon to face the Brazilian.

This Tuesday (26), with the middleweight belt defended for the third time in the UFC, Weidman had fun explaining his scared face when entering the fight area.

“It was the first time this happened to me. I felt like going to the bathroom. I thought, 'I can't believe this is going to happen. I'm going to shit myself in the middle of this octagon!' As soon as I heard Vitor's entrance music, I felt like it”, said Chris, who then told how he got rid of the problem.

"All I thought was, 'I don't know if I should go to the bathroom right now.' I would be the first person to have to leave a struggle to go to the bathroom. I didn't want to tell anyone, because then you feel like it more. I usually go in holding the American flag, but I couldn't even hold it properly, all I was thinking about was that,” he added with a laugh on the podcast. The MMA Hour.

The gastric problem of Chris Weidman didn't just happen before the fight against Vitor belfort. He has already defecated during training and had to use a trash can on his first date with his current wife. Still on the podcast, the fighter revealed that he intends to see a gastroenterologist.
