The victory over Diego lopes in the main fight of UFC 314, last Saturday (12), was valid for Alexander Volkanovsky not only the recapture of the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg), but also a place back in the top 10 of the pound-for-pound ranking, which includes athletes from all weight categories in the organization.

The Australian, who had long been in the top three of the rankings, had been outside the top 10 since consecutive losses to Islam makhachev e Ilia Topuria. With the victory over Diego lopes, Volkanovski surpassed the interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) Tom aspinall and the flyweight champion (up to 56,7 kg) Alexandre pantoja and took ninth place on the list.

The UFC pound-for-pound rankings are currently led by the lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) Islam makhachev. Completing the 'podium' Jon Jones, owner of the linear heavyweight belt and Ilia Topuria, who recently relinquished the featherweight title, moved up to lightweight, but still has no date to debut in the new category.
