Canadian rapper Drake made a profit of R$2,1 million after betting US$545 (around R$3,1 million) on the victory of Alexander Volkanovsky about Diego lopes, at UFC 314, held last Saturday (12), in Miami. The music star broke the famous 'curse' he carried in sports betting and celebrated the Australian's return to the position of featherweight champion (65,7kg), in the main fight of the night.

Drake invested heavily in Volkanovski's favoritism. With the unanimous decision victory, the 36-year-old fighter not only regained the belt he lost to Ilia Topuria in 2024, but also guaranteed the artist a total return of US$915 thousand (R$5,3 million) — a net profit of R$2,2 million.
The victory was emblematic: in addition to ending a streak of three losses in the Australian's last four fights, Volkanovski became the first athlete over 35 years old to win a title fight in the UFC's lighter weight divisions (up to 70 kg). An unprecedented feat, as 16 fighters had previously failed in this condition.
'Thank you, Volka!'
Live broadcast on the platform Kick-start, Drake thanked the champion. The musician, known for unlucky guesses in events such as wrestling Conor McGregor and matches by tennis players like Serena Williams, finally saw the 'curse' broken.
“A special thanks to Volk for securing that bet for me the other night, thank you,” he said.
Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes
Alexander Volkanovsky faced physical challenges during the fight: he suffered a knockdown and was temporarily blinded after an uppercut from Diego lopes in the second round.
Even so, the veteran controlled the fight with precision strikes and strategic movement to beat the Brazilian on points, who was fighting for his first UFC title.
