After finishing Bryce mitchell No. UFC 314 last Saturday (12), Jean Silva surprised by revealing his willingness to return to the octagon in just 15 days. In an interview with the channel 'Laerte Viana na Área', the Brazilian declared that he would accept a fight in UFC Kansas City, scheduled for April 26, and suggested a match-weight showdown against Josh Emmett, former challenger to the interim belt and responsible for knocking out the 'North American loudmouth' in 2023.
“Kansas City, maybe. Anything is possible. Who knows, maybe in 15 days we won’t be fighting again? (…), who knows, maybe a Josh Emmett, around there. A guy who might be willing to go out and fight at the agreed weight”, said the 'Lord'.

Last Saturday (12), in Miami, Jean consolidated his name as one of the biggest promises in the division by finishing Bryce with a hand triangle to secure his fifth consecutive UFC victory — all by submission or knockout.
The proposal for a catchweight bout — a rare practice in official UFC events — would require adjustments to the weight class limit to make the deal viable, since Josh Emmett competes in featherweight (65,7kg.) and Jean Silva also operates in the same division.
The organization, however, traditionally prioritizes confrontations within established divisions, which makes negotiations dependent on special authorization. With little time to prepare, it could be the only alternative.
If approved, the fight would add an element of surprise to the UFC Kansas City, which will have as its main attraction the duel between Ian Machado Garry e Carlos Prates in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg). The event is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Center in Missouri.
