There have been many rumors circulating about which event will headline UFC 317's 'International Fight Week', which takes place on June 28. One of the fights that fans are dying to see has just gained even more momentum to take place on that date: the middleweight title fight (up to 83,9kg) between champion Dricus du Plessis against the undefeated and 'threatening' Khamzat Shimaev.

During the post-UFC 314, which took place last Saturday (12) in Miami (USA), UFC president Dana White was asked by a journalist if the possible confrontation between the two middleweights would happen at 'International Fight Week'. The organization's boss gave a deadline to tell the 'good news'.
“Yeah. That would be cool. Tuesday,” White said at the press conference.
This alone is enough to lift the spirits of the most anxious, but Chimaev managed to further increase the spark among fans after a post on his 'X' profile this Monday (14). With just two words, the Chechen fighter shook up social media.
“Good news,” Chimaev said. (see below)

“The date for the DDP execution is set,” said another.
“You’re gonna hit a brick wall. DDP is gonna run over you,” one fan bet.

Yes, Khamzat Shimaev comes from victory over Robert whittaker No. UFC 308, in October of last year. 'The Wolf' defeated the former champion in the first round, with a brutal submission that broke up to the jaw of the opponent.
