Jean Silva gave a show and finished Bryce mitchell with a triangle choke during the second round of UFC 314, held on Saturday (12), in Miami. The organization released never-before-seen images of the decisive moment, captured from an angle close to the octagon, which highlight the technical precision of the Santa Catarina native. The victory, the Brazilian's fifth consecutive in the promotion — all by knockout or submission — should project him into the top 15 of the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg).

The new images, released after the event, show in detail how Jean applied the technique after knocking down his opponent with a straight left. Mitchell, off balance, tried to get to the ground, but was surprised by the speed of the Brazilian, who wrapped his left arm around his neck and forced him to give up with three slaps.
From the beginning, the fighter from Santa Catarina dominated the fight. In the first round, he neutralized the grappling attacks of his opponent, known for his takedown-based fighting style, and almost ended the fight with a guillotine. A spinning kick to the head, applied in the final seconds of the first round, also drew attention and left Mitchell visibly shaken.
The fight took on more than just sporting aspects after controversial statements by Mitchell, who quoted Adolf Hitler in an interview weeks before the event. Silva, at the end of the fight, asked for prayers for his rival and celebrated amid boos from part of the audience, which included US President Donald Trump and chanted 'US-A'.
