Away from the octagon since June 2023, when he defended the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg) against Irene aldana and announced retirement, Amanda nunes may be close to a return to MMA. The Brazilian was present at the first press conference of the UFC 316, this Friday (11), in Miami. The event has the duel between Juliana Peña and Kayla harrison as the co-main event for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2 kg), and apparently, the winner of the fight will face the Lioness.

Considered by many to be the best fighter in the history of MMA, Amanda nunes knows both Juliana and Kayla. Although she has never faced the two-time Olympic champion, they both trained at the same gym, American Top Team, for a brief period of time.
With Peña, the situation is different. The two have faced each other on two occasions. In the first confrontation, the Venezuelan Vixen shocked the world by winning by submission in the second round. In the rematch, the Brazilian dominated her rival for 25 minutes and won by unanimous decision. They should have faced each other a third time in the UFC 289, but Juliana was forced to withdraw due to an injury.
