Known for his controversial statements, Colby covington did not fail to share his harsh opinions about one of the fighters involved in the main fight of the UFC 314. For the American, the return of Alexander Volkanovsky to the octagon against Diego Lopes is not motivated by the opportunity to regain the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg). According to him, the motivation would be purely and simply financial.

In an interview with Fox Sports, Covington not only accused the Australian of having financial problems, but also mentioned the family of the former champion, who is married and has three daughters.
“I think he’s just coming back for a paycheck. He was looking for the fight against (Islam) Makhachev just to get paid. He has a lot of people to feed, he has three daughters and you could tell he wasn’t happy with his last daughter. Let’s see if he keeps trying for a boy,” said the loudmouth, referring to a video of the Volkanovski family’s latest gender reveal party.
