It seems like Diego lopes e Yair Rodriguez have many issues to resolve. The two featherweight fighters (up to 65,7 kg) will not even face each other in the UFC 314, but ended up being the protagonists of a parallel fight at the end of the afternoon of this Thursday (10) during the press conference of the event. Both athletes, who represent Mexico, disagreed and almost came to blows, but were restrained by security.

The fight between the two began suddenly. The title challenger responded to Yair's comments, who confronted him by calling him a 'culón' (coward in Spanish) because supposedly 10 people from Diego's team cornered one of his teammates. Lopes in turn became angry and began telling 'El Pantera' that he shouldn't speak ill of his team. (watch below)

The discussion between the two continued after the press conference. UFC 314, with both exchanging barbs behind the scenes.

The discussion between the two soon took over social media. The MMA community is now rooting for victories for both featherweights in the UFC 314, as a possible scenario for a title fight in UFC Night, in Mexico, may be traced.

Yair is not very fond of Lopes as a person. During the interviews at Media Day this Wednesday (9), the fighter made it clear that he does not agree with the Brazilian living in Mexico defending the colors of his country. Diego was born in Manaus, but moved to Mexico when he was 19. Now 30, he is proud to represent the country that launched him in MMA.

PUBLICITY:

“Yeah, I have a problem with that, not with Diego. He’s just doing his job with what he’s doing right now, but my problem is: what’s going on with the people? I understand that he’s great, he’s exciting and you know he’s doing his job, but I just don’t agree with that. I’ll never be like that and I don’t want to be like that. If he’s doing that, good for him. If people want to see him as Mexican, I don’t have a problem with that,” said ‘El Pantera’.
