After hitting Vitor belfort in the co-main fight of UFC 187, Chris Weidman he begged MMA fans to stop doubting his abilities and, possibly, believed he was free, at the same time, from the ghost of Brazilian fighters. However, it was enough for the middleweight champion to take the microphone at the press conference after the event to be approached with a question about two of his biggest Brazilian rivals.

After asking Weidman to use his “Brazilian Exterminator” ability against the country's politicians, a comedian from the program “Pânico na Band” asked Weidman about the chances of a repeat of the duel between Anderson Silva e Vitor belfort, both defeated by him in the last 18 months, and who the North American believes would win the hypothetical confrontation. Weidman's response was instinctive. “You say one against the other? I mean… of course. I don’t know (who would win), who cares”, said the champion, whose reply was received with laughter from the journalists present.
With the triumph over Vitor belfort, Chris Weidman he reached 13 wins in 13 fights as a professional. To date, all valid fights for the Ultimate belt in the “All American”’s career have been against Brazilian athletes – in addition to Vitor, he beat Anderson Silva (twice) and Lyoto Machida. There is a chance that Weidman will have another Brazilian fighter in front of him in his next belt defense, as Ronaldo Jacare dispute with Luke Rockhold the next challenger for the 84 kg division title.
