Despite having shared the octagon in 2020, the rivalry between Dominick reyes e Jon Jones remains alive to this day. This is because, in the main fight of the UFC 247, 'Bones' had what was probably the toughest fight of his career and came out on top after a controversial decision.

Five years after the duel, Reyes — and a good portion of his fans — still firmly claim that he was screwed, which clearly bothers Jones.

In a press conference at the 'Media Day' of UFC 314, Reyes said that regardless of what Jon Jones say, the fight between them will be marked in history, especially since many people believe that the champion was defeated. For Dominick, it was a legendary performance on his part, and that bothers 'Bones', who will have to live with the fact that there will always be those who say that he should not have raised his arm that night.

“We are stuck in this moment in time, in history, forever – whether he likes it or not, that is the fact. It was a legendary fight. It will go down in history as a legendary performance on my part, and he is not happy that people, forever, will say that he did not win that fight. What Jon Jones has to say, he will say it, but I know who I am, what I am, and what happened – period,” Reyes said.

Tired of hearing this narrative, Jon Jones countered Dominick reyes recently, ironically, saying that perhaps he had a chance of beating him in a game of 'rock, paper, scissors'.

Since his loss to Jones, Reyes has faced more lows than highs in his career. The fighter racked up three consecutive losses before finding his way back to winning ways with two straight knockouts over dustin jacoby e Anthony Smith. Now, he returns this Saturday against Nikita Krylov, at UFC 314.
