Keeping an eye on the fighters present at the grandiose UFC 314, Daniel Cormier goes against popular opinion and argues that instead of Alexander Volkanovsky, Michael chandler is the one who enters the octagon under the most pressure to secure victory. When explaining his argument, the former two-time champion recalled his compatriot's trajectory.

“I believe Chandler has more pressure (than Volkanovski). Do you want me to tell you why? Michael chandler found himself in very, very tough company to reach. He's the kind of guy who, win or lose, nothing really affects him, right? If he wins, people say, "Wow, that's amazing." He knocked Dan Hooker, kicked him in the face Tony Ferguson. If he loses – man, him and Charles Oliveira, he had him. It was close, he was about to become champion, but Charles got him,” Cormier said on Good Guy/Bad Guy.

Cormier then added that Chandler cannot accept defeat to the new generation.

“It’s no big deal. He and Dustin poirier, he loses. 'Oh, it was a great fight,' but Dustin did the job, finished him. He fought with Justin gaethje, it was an incredible fight, but Gaethje won. Charles Oliveira, he faced him and knocked him back. What I mean is that Michael chandler fought in the UFC six times. He won twice. If he loses again, now you won't be losing to Justin gaethje, Dustin poirier, Charles Oliveira. You are losing to the next generation. You can't lose to the next generation guy,” he concluded.

Scheduled for the penultimate fight of the UFC 314, Chandler and Pimblett face each other this Saturday (12) in a duel that will have up to five rounds. A big favorite in the bookmakers, Paddy still doesn't know what it's like to lose in the Ultimate, while the American seeks to return to the path of victories after a long hiatus in the company.
