Khamzat Chimaev reveals Irish arrest after going after McGregor ahead of UFC fight with Khabib

Khamzat Shimaev publicly revealed an attempt to confront Conor McGregor on Irish territory. And this resulted in the arrest of 'Borz'. The reason for all the wear and tear of the Chechen would be provocations made by 'Notorious' to Khabib Nurmagomedov before fight between the two in October 2018.

In a recent interview, Chimaev explained that he was not happy with the insults directed at his compatriots during the preparation for UFC 229. Khamzat then saw the Irishman boasting about having knocked out a Chechen fighter during training and decided to fly to Ireland to try to spar with McGregor.

“I had seen one of our guys, my compatriot… He (McGregor) knocked him down in sparring and posted a picture. My friends told me
to train with him, and I flew there, but I didn't find him,” Chimaev said during the conversation with Azamat Chef.

“They didn’t let me in. They arrested me at the airport and sent me back home. They must have mistaken me for someone else. Later, they sent me a letter saying I could come back at any time,” Borz revealed.
