protagonist of ufc vegas 105, Josh Emmett besides being known for his great knockout power and for having violently defeated the controversial Bryce mitchell, also wants to be remembered for his confidence. Underdog for duel against Lerone murphy, the fighter reacted in an unusual way when he was told he was an underdog at the betting houses. The duel takes place this Saturday (5).

“Vegas, they like to make money. I love it. It’s like my friends, the people who are betting, they love it when I’m a big underdog. What, 3.50? Bet the house,” Emmett said during an appearance on Media Day.

As he continued speaking, the fighter explained why fans are betting the house on his victory.

“I’ve never been in a boring fight. I know what the UFC wants to see. I know what the fans want to see. They get excited when I’m on a card because every punch I throw, I’m trying to finish the fight. I don’t think I need to go out there and make a statement, but I’m going to do it. The goal is to be a world champion. That’s always the goal,” he said.

Currently ranked eighth in the featherweight rankings (up to 65,7 kg), Emmett, who is 40 years old, is coming off a big win in his last appearance. Inactive since 2023, the fighter is planning a resounding victory over Murphy so he can take another step towards the division title.
