“In the end, I was proud of how the Pitbull situation was handled. He wanted out. He didn't want to continue fighting under the PFL banner, and he's a guy who caused a huge scandal on social media. If you think you can get something better somewhere else and make more money somewhere else, go ahead and try it,” O'Connell said in interview to journalist Ariel Helwani.

“I wish him all the best. I’m a big fan of his fighting style, but I don’t think he’s going to do any better or more in the UFC than he did under the Bellator banner or with the PFL. So, we’ll let time tell,” O’Connell concluded.

Patrick Pitbull will fight for the world's largest MMA organization for the first time in UFC 314. The fighter will face the featherweight (up to 65,7 kg.) Yair Rodriguez on the main card of the event that will be held in Miami (USA). The Brazilian has already built a solid career in the sport. To date, Pitbull has won 36 fights and has only been defeated seven times.
