Next Sunday (6), Future MMA will hold its 14th edition at Expocentro, in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina. Among the highlights of the event is Lucas Sorin, a fighter who left behind a troubled past in organized fan clubs to dedicate himself to martial arts. Known by his nickname due to his similarity to former Argentine player Juan Pablo Sorín, he faces Uruguayan Agustin Paez in the main fight of the night.
Born and raised in an environment of organized fan clubs, Sorin was an active member of Gaviões da Fiel, a fan club from Corinthians. However, he decided to abandon this past marked by fights and violence to dedicate himself to sanda (Chinese boxing), a martial art that, according to him, 'saved him'.

“I was very involved with organized fans, I was one of the ‘front lines’ of the Fiel here in Santa Catarina. I went through a lot of hardships, fights, even though I was already training. When I decided to focus 100% on martial arts, I realized that it could no longer be part of my life. I believe that martial arts saved me”, highlighted Sorin.
Sorin is an example of how martial arts can change lives. Not only did he trade the violent atmosphere of fan clubs for a more disciplined environment, but he also became an inspirational figure for many young people.
“I work with community schools and social sanda projects. I always say that today I am lucky to save the lives of young people in my city with something that saved and transformed my own life,” concluded the fighter from Santa Catarina.
Future MMA, which acts as a development league for MMA athletes, has already revealed important names such as Renan Problem, 2023 PFL season champion, and UFC athletes Caio Borralho e Jean Silva. The organization also proposes the rivalry between Brazil and Uruguay, one of the strong points of the card.
