Recent statements from Conor McGregor suggest he may finally be calling it quits on his MMA career. The Irishman, who has not fought in nearly four years, said in a collective who turned down the chance to fight again, who is happy with what he has achieved and is now focused on a career in politics.
While it's shocking to see the former champion admit he's not likely to fight again, the idea didn't come as a surprise to Matt Brown. In an episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer podcast, the veteran pointed out that McGregor has been talking about his retirement plan since he became famous and said the Irishman is just fulfilling promises he made years ago.

Conor McGregor has not fought since his defeat to Dustin poirier in 2021. However, fans almost saw the Irishman in action again in the UFC 303, held in June 2024, but the former champion was forced off the card due to a toe injury.
