On the day that the UFC launched a call to the MMA community for an announcement from Dana White, Ian Gary caught the attention of his fans in particular. The Irishman made a mysterious post that raised the belief that a new fight would be announced soon.

A torrent of comments was unleashed suggesting the name of Carlos Prates. The Brazilian had the fight against Geoff neal canceled, due to an injury to the American. However, the representative of 'Fighting Nerds' has expressed his desire to face another big name in the ranking of his division.
The last time that Ian Machado Garry stepped into the octagon was in UFC 310, when he lost his 15-fight unbeaten streak. He was defeated by Shavkat Rakhmonov by unanimous decision of the judges of the co-main event of the pay-per-view in Las Vegas late last year.
