As much as he has dedicated his life to the WWE ring and movie sets, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's MMA skills seem to be enough to impress even world champions. The Hollywood star will play former wrestler Mark Kerr, one of the most intimidating heavyweights of all time and a two-time UFC champion in the 90s. To do this, he had the support of Ryan bader, who dominated Bellator's light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) categories.

Bader, who will play Mark Coleman, the UFC's first heavyweight champion (over 90,7 pounds), acted alongside The Rock and said he was impressed with the actor's talent.
“Yeah, he looked good, I’m not going to say he stood there looking like a guy who’s been fighting for 20 years, but he obviously works very hard. He went out there and did a training camp with real MMA fighters to improve his skills. I’ve seen some of the replays and they look good. Like I said, he worked very, very hard and he was in really good shape, as he always is,” the American said in an interview with ‘Submission Radio'.

Despite becoming world famous for his work as an actor, Johnson began his career on TV as a professional wrestler in the WWE, the world's largest organization in the sport, back in the 90s. There, he became a star thanks to his athletic ability and trash talk, which propelled him to Hollywood.

The announcement of the film's production was made by The Rock himself, at the press conference before the UFC 244, in 2019. The feature film, entitled 'The Smashing Machine', is scheduled to premiere in Brazil in October of this year and will address not only the career, but also aspects of the fighter's personal life, who experienced dramas caused by mental health problems.
In addition to Johnson and Bader, 'The Smashing Machine' also features actress Emily Blunt and boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
