'The Nightmare' is currently on a four-fight winning streak since earning a contract through Dana White's 'Contender Series', with his last win coming against Neil Magny. Prates is still outside the top 10 in the welterweight category (up to 77kg), however, the division has undergone a major turnaround recently when Sean brady dominated Leon edwards in the main event of UFC London, last week.

Brady's win highlighted that there is a transition period happening near the top of the division, with Prates hopeful he will be a part of it.
