In the first fight on the main card, Kevin Borjas silenced the Mexican public by winning Ronaldo Rodríguez by unanimous decision of the judges, in a duel valid for the flyweight category (up to 56,7 kg). With the victory, the Peruvian achieved his first victory in the Ultimate, while the home team suffered his first failure in the largest MMA organization in the world.
The fight was very lively throughout the 15 minutes. While Rodriguez sought to dominate the center of the octagon and risked a series of dangerous and unorthodox kicks, Borjas moved intelligently and sought to hurt his opponent with quick and precise boxing combinations.
In the first round, Borjas took his opponent to the ground on two occasions, landing powerful straight right hands. From that moment on, the Peruvian stunned Rodriguez with precise counterattacks throughout the main exchanges of blows between the two.
At the end of the third round, two judges scored the fight 30-27 and the third scored it 29-28 in favor of Borjas, who at 25 years old, reached his tenth victory as a professional.
