UFC Mexico's North American standout has fight canceled due to last-minute illness, blames travel

The 28-year-old, who has four wins in the organization, all by stoppage, was scheduled for the biggest fight of his career in UFC Mexico. However, due to an unreported illness, he was forced to give up the fight against Kelvin Gastelum, which would take place on the main card. The information was released by the official Ultimate profile on 'X' (former Twitter).

In an Instagram story, Pyfer expressed regret over the cancellation of the fight and expressed his desire to reschedule the fight soon. In addition, the American blamed the trip outside the US for the problem.

“I just want to say that my heart is broken that I won’t be able to fight today. I’ve been very ill and I’m hoping we can reschedule this fight for a few weeks from now. Unfortunately, this is part of traveling outside of the United States. Never again. My apologies, guys. I’ll be back,” Pyfer wrote.
