Despite competing in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg), Ian Machado Garry not only shows that he has his eye on other categories, but also that he enjoys watching UFC fights. In a question and answer session held on his social network, the fighter chose Mauricio Ruffy, Brazilian lightweight prospect (up to 70,3kg) as his favorite athlete currently.
“There’s someone lately that’s really caught my attention. His style is phenomenal and I love watching it. It kind of reminds me of the old Conor McGregor. His name is Mauricio Ruffy, he's from Sao Paulo, Brazilian. His style is beautiful. I think his moves are on another level and I'm excited to see how his career unfolds at this point. He's absolutely one of my favorite fighters in the UFC right now,” Garry said on his official UFC account. Instagram.
