Keeping an eye on the turbulent scenario that the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) is currently experiencing, Chael Sonnen ignored Dana White's statements and publicly declared that Jon Jones have not yet received a proposal to face Tom aspinall. Contrary to what the Englishman suggests is happening, the veteran argues that his compatriot is not afraid.
“My permission as the sport’s foremost insider: Jon is not going to turn down this fight. Jon has not been offered this fight. That’s the monster in the closet that people don’t seem to want to be true. There has been no suggestion of a date or location, not yet, and no phone call to Jon that his opponent would be Tom for the undisputed title. If you believe that Jon Jones is refusing to do these things, you are wrong. That offer has not been presented to him yet,” Sonnen said on his official Instagram account.

In a recent interview, Dana stated that the fight is certain to happen, but not so certain that contracts will be signed. The information revealed by Ariel Helwani, a renowned MMA journalist, is that Jones requires six months of preparation from the moment the fight becomes official.
