After shining with a beautiful knockout in UFC 313, Mauricio Ruffy is ready for the top level of the division. With three wins in three fights in the Ultimate, two by knockout, the Fighting Nerds prodigy says he already feels like a ranked fighter.
During his appearance on 'Conectcast', Ruffy showed confidence by stating that he already considers himself a high-level athlete and ready to face the biggest names in the lightweight division. The prodigy guaranteed that, if he faces any of the top fighters, he will not disappoint Brazilian fans.

“In my mind, I’m already a ranked athlete. I’m ready to fight the guys who are up there. Man, I feel like I can fight Chandler, Pimblett, Gaethje, any of them. You can be sure that Brazil won’t be embarrassed if I fight any of these guys,” said Ruffy.
Ruffy explains why he avoids facing Brazilians in the UFC
Ruffy feels ready to make his way to the top of the division, but he made it clear that he prefers not to face Brazilians, as he sees MMA as a dispute between Brazil and the world.
“I don’t want to fight Brazilians, because I think it’s Brazil against the world, and I don’t need to fight a Brazilian today. First, because, unfortunately, Brazilians aren’t the champions today, and second, because there are many other guys for us to fight. To give an example, I don’t want to lose Moicano’s fans. I want Moicano’s fans to root for me too, as Brazilians… Guys, we’re Brazilians. If I have to fight, it will be an honor, but I’ll only fight if it’s for the belt or if there’s no other way,” concluded the Fighting Nerds prodigy.
