Present in the daily life of undefeated champion Oleksandr Usyk, Sergey Lapin, the athlete's training partner, did not hesitate to comment on the Ukrainian's chances of facing Alex Poatán in boxing in the future. Aware that Dana White has recently joined the world of boxing, the fighter was optimistic about the chances of fans watching the duel in the ring.
“We never say never about fighting the dangerous Alex Pereira, possibly in partnership with Dana White. Dana’s move to boxing could open the door for more fights between boxers and current UFC stars,” Lapin said in an interview with OLBG.

Continuing with his speech, the fighter highlighted the importance of Dana's attitude and commented on the possibility of greater payment to athletes who venture into the noble art through this project.
“Dana is a capable guy and with Turki’s skills they could create a very interesting project. It will bring attention to our great sport, expand the fan base, attract new investment and possibly increase the athletes’ purses,” he concluded.

Openly interested in facing Poatan under boxing rules, Usyk is counting on the Brazilian's reciprocity. Despite having opened the door to a fight at the time, the former UFC light heavyweight champion had considered the possibility that Dana would not facilitate negotiations. However, with the American's new affiliation, it is possible that the organization will be able to hold a meeting between the fighters.
