Jiri Prochazka is eager to return to the UFC Octagon. The Czech, who is second in line for the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg), has decided that he will not wait for the winner of the rematch between Alex Poatán e Magomed Ankalayev. Although he wants to regain the belt, the former champion already has a target in mind for his next opponent.

In an interview with 'The Schmo', Prochazka made it clear that he wants to stay active and, after hearing the rumors about the confirmation of the rematch between Poatan and Ankalaev, he made himself available to face the winner of the duel between Jan Blachowicz e Carlos Ulberg, which are faced in the UFC London.
“I’m just looking for a good fight. And after today’s news about Alex and Ankalaev, who have already confirmed a fight, maybe I don’t want to just sit and watch them, waiting for the winner. Maybe I’ll fight the winner of those guys and then Saturday night we’ll see who the winner is. Let the best guy win,” Prochazka said.
Prochazka defends Poatan's revenge, but advises recovery before the Brazilian's return
Prochazka believes that Poatan deserves a chance to fight the champion, but he also believes that, in order to win, the Brazilian needs time to recover from his previous defeat, improve his style and adjust some aspects before returning to the octagon.
“I think for Alex, this is right. It’s like he needs a chance to fight the champion. But I still think he needs to cool off after the loss and take some time to update his style, improve some things and win the battle,” said the ‘Czech Samurai’.
Jiri Prochazka became UFC champion in 2022, after finalize Glover Teixeira. However, he relinquished the belt due to injury and, in two attempts to regain it, ended up being knocked out by Alex Poatán.
