Longtime UFC fans will have the opportunity to watch a familiar veteran in action again. Former UFC heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski, will face Terrance Hodges in the first official event of the Dirty Boxing Championship, scheduled for March 22, in Miami (USA).
At 46 years old, Arlovski makes his debut in the new modality after suffering his fourth consecutive defeat in the octagon, a split decision in UFC 303, last June. The Belarusian competed in 42 UFC fights over two stints with the organization. The announcement of Arlovski's return to combat sports was made by the organization this Thursday (13), through social media.
Terrance Hodges, the veteran's opponent, will also make his first appearance at Dirty Boxing. At 40 years old, the fighter has competed in several disciplines, including MMA, where he suffered a decision loss to Mohammad Usman, brother of the former UFC champion. Kamaru Usman, at Titan FC.
DBX 1 will be headlined by a heavyweight showdown between former UFC fighter Yoel romero and Ras Hylton, former PFL athlete.

In the rules of the organization, designed by Mike Perry, athletes use 5oz open gloves (one ounce larger than MMA gloves). Only strikes with fists, palms and elbows are allowed. In addition, clinch attacks and ground and pound (strikes with the opponent down) are valid, but takedowns and submissions are not allowed.
The ring is small in size, encouraging open contact at all times. The first Dirty Boxing event took place in November of last year, with doors open only to invited guests – among them the UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. The show also featured the participation of Yoel romero, that won by knockout in the main fight.
