Plenty of questions have taken over the debates on MMA after the defeat de Alex Poatán, in the decision, to Magomed Ankalayev. The Brazilian lost his light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) after five rounds of the main fight of the UFC 313, in Las Vegas. Many people attributed most of the robberies to Poatan.

Takedown attempts and defenses were the main topics of discussion in analysis and on social media. But that’s not the only scoring discussion in vogue. Veteran commentator Joe Rogan raised the question about the way submission attempts are scored. He cited another Brazilian as an example.
In the last episode of 'JRE Podcast', Rogan recalled the fight between Arman Tsarukyan e Charles of the Bronx as an example of how submission attempts should appear on cards.
“See the fight with Arman Tsarukyan, if you think about that fight with Charles Oliveira – Charles Oliveira caught him several times in deep submissions, which I think should count for a lot (in the scoring). If I looked at who won that fight, I would say Oliveira won that fight because he put him in trouble,” said Joe Rogan.
Charles of the Bronx threatened several submissions in that fight do UFC 300, in April last year. But the victory went to the Armenian by a very tight split decision.
“It was a bit of a controversial opinion, but I think a well-locked triangle or a D'Arce choke, or anything along those lines, should be considered the winner,” he said.
