Despite being scheduled to fight in the UFC 314 against Michael chandler on April 12, Paddy Pimblett doesn't let opportunities slip by. Keeping an eye out for the opportunity to measure strength against Dustin poirier, the English prospect called the veteran an idiot for considering retirement in the midst of a good moment in his career in the Ultimate.
“He said something about me the other day, didn’t he? He said they’re just legends and he thinks Chandler is going to beat me. I think he should fight more than one fight. He looked good in his last fight. I don’t understand why you would retire when you’re doing well, but, you know, he must be an idiot. I think I beat him.” Dustin poirier, so I would love to fight him,” Pimblett told ESPN.

In addition to mentioning Poirier, Pimblett made a point of downplaying the size of Poirier's triumph. Charles of the Bronx about Chandler and argued that, if the Brazilian gets a chance at the title due to his last victory, the same should happen to him.
“Charles just beat Chandler. If Charles gets a title shot after beating Chandler, I want a title shot when I beat Chandler,” he concluded.

Undefeated since being signed by the UFC, Pimblett is preparing for the biggest challenge of his career to date. Currently ranked 12th in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg), the athlete is looking to steal the number seven position held by Chandler. The fight is scheduled for April 12, in Miami (USA).
