Former UFC middleweight title challenger (up to 83,9 kg), Marvin vettori, faces again the eighth place in the ranking Roman Dolidze. The two are in the main fight of the ufc vegas 104 this Saturday (15), at Apex, in Las Vegas (USA).
Vettori has been out of action for 20 months. The last time he stepped into the Octagon was in his loss to Jared Cannonier, in June 2023. But after all, why has the athlete been out of action for so long? The 'Italian Dream' revealed during the 'media day' that seriously injured his shoulder and was recovering.

“I crushed my shoulder. It bounced around and destroyed my rotator cuff, my labrum and even my biceps. It was a major surgery, you know. A lot of tendons were torn and damaged. Tendons take a while to heal,” Vettori said at the press conference.
“It’s good to be back. After my last fight, I thought I needed some time off, so I switched gyms [from Xtreme Couture] and joined American Top Team (ATT). I started training for another fight, but then I got hurt …this injury basically took me a year. I thought I could recover in three months with physical therapy, but it actually got worse and I ended up needing surgery in June. I injured myself last March and I’m finally coming back now,” he explained.
