New UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), Magomed Ankalayev reignited rivalry with Alex Poatán this Thursday (13) when publishing a provocation on social media. The Russian shared on his profile on 'X' (old Twitter) the best moments of the victory over the Brazilian in UFC 313, held last Saturday (8), and provoked.

“Big 'daddy' Ank no UFC 313”, wrote the fighter on his official account.

Poatan's defeat interrupted a series of five consecutive triumphs in the organization and marked the end of the Brazilian's reign, who had won the belt in November 2023. Magomed, on the other hand, consolidated an unbeaten streak of 14 fights and secured his first UFC belt after years of rising in the category.

Despite the former champion's resistance to avoiding his opponent's takedowns, the Russian dominated the stand-up fight with a style of constant pressure, neutralizing Poatan's sharp striking — a weapon that guaranteed the Brazilian iconic victories against other imposing names in the organization.

Magomed Ankalayev, 32, has improved his professional MMA record to 21 wins, one loss and one draw. Known for his precise wrestling and knockout power, the Dagestani has triumphs over figures such as Thiago Marreta, Johnny Walker, Aleksandar rakic and now, Alex Poatán.
