It's no secret that US President Donald Trump is an avid UFC supporter. But it's surprising that his admiration extends even to meetings with heads of state.

Trump met with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin yesterday (12) as part of his St. Patrick's Day engagements. Trade deals and tariffs were the main topics, but it seems the UFC is never far from the president's mind.

Speaking to reporters, Donald Trump took time to praise the former two-time Ultimate champion, Conor McGregor, and express general admiration for all fighters coming from Ireland.

“I happen to like your fighter, he has the best tattoos I’ve ever seen. Conor’s great, right? Talking about Conor, but you’ve got a lot of great Irish fighters, actually. Great fighters,” Trump said.
