Hard knocked out in 2019 when he fought for the lightweight title against Patricio Pibtull in Bellator, Michael Chandler states that he has no desire whatsoever to get revenge on the athlete. Aware that the Brazilian is now part of the UFC roster, the veteran stated that he will not pursue a fight and explained that there have been no provocations since the arrival of the fighter from Rio Grande do Norte in the organization.
“Yeah, I’m not interested in reliving anything. I’m not a guy who tries to get revenge for anything, and I’m also not the kind of guy who likes to have any animosity. Obviously, I knocked his brother out almost twice, and I definitely knocked him out once pretty hard. I think there was a miscommunication due to the language barrier,” Chandler told CBS Sports.

Continuing his speech, Chandler celebrated being on the same card as the Brazilian on April 12 at UFC 314 and vowed to try to minimize any rivalry between the two.
“He’s a 66kg fighter, I’m a 70kg fighter, I have no interest in fighting Patricio Pitbull , but it will be interesting to share the same card with him. And when I see him, I will shake his hand respectfully, maybe even apologize for past miscommunications. Let’s leave the past behind. You don’t need to waste your energy on me. Focus on trying to become the UFC featherweight champion,” he concluded.

Scheduled to debut at UFC 314 on April 12, Pitbull prepares to face Yair Rodriguez in Miami. Also on the card, Chandler faces Paddy Pimblett . Currently, the fighters are in different weight classes.
