Glover Teixeira opens his heart and speaks for the first time after Alex Poatan's defeat at UFC 313

The defeat for Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC 313 is far from being a synonym for sadness for Alex Poatán and his team. Despite the Brazilian having lost the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) for Russian, Glover Teixeira, the main coach of the Pataxó, highlighted the harmony of the team and is already preparing for the rematch.

In a video published on Poatan's YouTube channel, Glover showed satisfaction with everything he experienced in UFC 313 and, although his pupil did not have his arm raised, he emphasized that the most important thing is the journey and the unity of the team, regardless of the results. The veteran highlighted the harmony and constant support of the team, emphasizing that, in both victories and defeats, everyone was together and having fun, maintaining the same positive energy.

“It was a spectacular week, as always. What matters is the journey, the guys always together, the harmony, everyone speaking well of our team. And that's what we are: united, and, regardless of victory or defeat, we were there in the room the same way, enjoying ourselves,” said Glover.

Glover expressed his opinion that, despite the defeat, he believes that Poatan won the fight and that the team will review the fight to be sure. The veteran reinforced that the focus now is to adjust details, train and seek the rematch to regain the belt and make history.

“There was this defeat that, in my opinion, was the same as what Poatan said. We’ll watch the fight again, but for me, he won. And now the thing is to go back, adjust a few things, train like hell, get the rematch and make history. Make history like Poatan has been doing, do it well. A great warrior!
