Jon Jones brought to light the weight of the legacy of Conor McGregor when commenting on the ceremonial entry of Alex Poatán No. UFC 313. The Brazilian, who had a special announcement from Bruce Buffer — “The first, the only!” —, was part of a select group that includes 'Bones' and the Irishman himself.
In a post shared on ESPN's Instagram profile, the heavyweight champion was full of praise for the Irishman.

“There is only one Conor McGregor”, wrote Jones.
The statement came amid debates about the former champion's influence on the sport's culture. McGregor appears to have inspired Poatan's tribute. The Brazilian, however, failed to retain his light heavyweight belt after being dominated by wrestling Magomed Ankalayev.
Alex's defeat drew attention due to the contrast between his striking power — responsible for triumphs over Jiri Prochazka, Jamahal hill and others — and the difficulties in grappling. Despite the setback, the fact that he received the same ceremonial presentation as icons like Jones and McGregor reinforces his status as one of the most relevant names today.
At 37, Alex Poatán has an updated record of 12 wins and three losses in MMA. His main achievements are victories over Israel adesanya (kickboxing and MMA), Sean Strickland, Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka e Jamahal hill.
