Rampage Jackson gets the better of Fábio Maldonado and returns to the UFC with victory

Former light heavyweight champion won his first in the Octagon since 2011 by dominating the striking action in Montreal

Former light heavyweight champion, Quinton Rampage Jackson returned to the biggest MMA organization on the planet with victory, in the co-main fight of UFC 186, this Saturday night (25), in Montreal, Canada. The North American got the better of Fábio Maldonado and was named winner in the judges' unanimous decision after three rounds of competition.

As expected, the fight between the two strikers it developed standing up most of the time, with both seeking combat. In general, Rampage he connected more blows, even surprising by adding more kicks to his arsenal. Maldonado, with his usual brave style, didn't let anything go and tried to connect punches on the waist line as he walked forward.

However, Rampage He showed himself prepared for the Brazilian's attacks, applying precise counterattacks and clinching at important moments. Thus, the former champion won on points, with two 30 to 27 and one 29 to 28.

After the fight, still in the octagon, Rampage recognized the merits of the Brazilian fighter. “I trained to knock this guy out, but he has a chin of steel! He gave me a hard time”, he acknowledged.

This was the first victory for Rampage in the UFC since May 2011, when he beat Matt Hamill at UFC 130; in total, this was his fourth consecutive victory, as he had three positive results in Bellator. Maldonado, in turn, suffered his fourth setback in the UFC, compared to five victories.

Bisping gets scared, but beats Dollaway in the judges' decision

In the third fight of the UFC 186 main card, Michael Bisping he found his way back to victory by beating CB Dollaway with a very technical performance in the Octagon.

Throughout the three rounds of the contest, Bisping dominated Dollaway in the stand-up fight, with precise movement and a lot of speed, in addition to repelling his rival's takedown attempts. The Englishman was bothersome with the variation of strikes, while Dollaway bet his chances on the counterattack.

Despite his superiority, Bisping still suffered a huge scare at the end of the first round when he received a sharp blow to the chin, which knocked him down. However, the American was unable to complete the fight, so that, after 15 minutes of action, Bisping was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges.

With this, Bisping recovers from the defeat suffered by Luke Rockhold, in November of last year, reaching 25-7 in professional MMA. Dollaway suffers his second defeat in a row, as he lost to Lyoto Machida in December 2014.
