The controversial Dillon Danis is returning to the ring in 'Misfits Boxing'. The organization announced this Tuesday (4) that the friend of Conor McGregor will face Englishman KSI in a themed card called 'Unfinished Business', in a boxing crossover match, where an influencer challenges an athlete. The event takes place on March 29 at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. The fight will be held at 83,9kg and will be Danis' first inside a boxing ring since his infamous fight with Logan Paul in 2023.

Dillon and KSI were scheduled to meet at Misfits Boxing 4 in January 2023 before Danis pulled out of the fight a week early. Misfits promoter Mams Taylor believed the scratch was due to Danis being 'unprepared'. The former Bellator fighter made his Misfits debut nine months later against Logan Paul, the brother of Jake Paul. Before the fight, Dillon trained with the UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), Alex Poatán.

But in the ring against Logan Paul, Dillon traded technique for chaos and put lovers of the noble art to shame. At a disadvantage, he was disqualified for trying several times to apply MMA blows, which is prohibited in boxing. (see below)

KSI was quick to take to his 'X' account to deliver a scathing message to Dillon Danis after his boxing match was revealed to the public. The social media star vowed to put Danis in his place on fight night.

“When I found out I had the opportunity to fight him, I had to take it. I’m finally going to get my comeuppance for what he did to me in Misfits 3. This double guard bullshit is not going to work on me, f*ck. See you soon,” he wrote. (see below)

On the other hand, Danis said that his opponent is not a real fighter in the official promotional video.

“My heart is different. I don’t think he’s a real fighter. I think I’m going to break him, and I don’t think he has the mind of a fighter,” he said.

Considered a promise for MMA in the past, Dillon Danis began his career in martial arts with jiu-jitsu as his main weapon. A black belt revealed by master Marcelo Garcia, the North American drew attention for solid presentations in clashes in the 'gentle art'.

His grappling skills were not, however, what drew attention to the 31-year-old fighter. The athlete rose to prominence in the sports media due to his friendship and partnership with the legendary Conor McGregor. But, even with a training partner who managed to immortalize himself in MMA, Danis did not have the same success.

Signed by Bellator in 2018, the fighter made two appearances for the company and was successful in both. In the first match, which marked his debut as a professional in mixed martial arts, Danis submitted Kyle Walker. The following year, he also beat Max Humphrey in the fast lane, using jiu-jitsu.

What seemed like a promising career, however, ended in frustration. Affected by a long sequence of injuries, the North American was unable to continue his MMA career and, since 2019, he has not stepped into the cage for a confrontation.
