Shara Magomedov suffered the first defeat of his professional career in the co-main event of UFC Saudi Arabia, in which it was surpassed by Michael Page by unanimous decision. However, the Russian appears to have stepped into the octagon with challenges beyond his opponent. After making a post on social media in which he briefly addressed the subject, he went into greater detail this Sunday (2), in an interview with the Russian portal 'Red Corner MMA'. The fighter revealed that he suffered several health problems during preparation for the fight.

“I have never felt so bad in the cage. My legs were gone, my arms were weak and I have a lot of health problems that I don’t want to reveal. There were several problems that affected my performance. My mind was there, but my body was off. I have dysbiosis and parasitosis in my intestine and problems with bile flow. I expected to solve this problem, at least before the fight, but it is still there,” said the fighter.

According to the Pirate, who has also been blind in his right eye since 2018, the problems faced throughout the camp impaired their ability to maintain an intense fighting pace throughout the 15 minutes.
“That’s why I couldn’t keep up the proper pace. I was feeling sick after throwing just a few punches, so I needed a break. After every two punches, just moving on my feet for a minute, I was even afraid of throwing up in the fight. When I went back to my corner after the first round, I felt like I was going to throw up. All that accumulated bile didn’t let me work. It’s still there until now. My legs are gone,” Bullet concluded.
Michael Page reacts to Shara Magomedov's statements
In an interview with Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, in 'The Ariel Helwani Show' this Monday (3), MVP was questioned about the opponent's allegations. Although in a respectful manner, the Englishman said he did not agree with the Pirate's attitude.
“If I were to give any advice for (Magomedov) moving forward, if you accept the fight knowing that you’ve had something, then the result is the result. If you win, you can say whatever you want. If you lose, keep it to yourself. Maybe a while later you can say that you had some problems. But then later, it might be completely factual, but it just feels wrong. It feels like an excuse. That would be my only advice to him,” he said.
