The moment of economic instability experienced by Brazil and popular protests reached Ultimate. This Saturday (21), at UFC Fight Night 62, held in Rio de Janeiro, some fighters took part in political demonstrations after victories in the octagon. Dissatisfied, the athletes protested against the lack of encouragement for education, against corruption, and there were even those who called for the resignation of the president of the republic, Dilma Rousseff.

The first to mention the subject was Leandro Buscapé, still on the attraction's preliminary card. Holding a Brazilian flag after controversially beating the North American Drew dober, the athlete protested against the corruption of politicians.

In the next fight, Kevin Souza, who knocked out Katsunori Kikuno, asked government officials to give greater incentives to teachers and children. Finally, Gilbert Durinho, pupil of Vitor belfort, was more incisive after victory over Alex Cowboy and shouted: “Dilma, ask to leave”, he said, into the microphone.

UFC president Dana White expressed surprise at the statements, but said he doesn't know what he will do about it in the future. “This doesn’t happen in other places, only here in Brazil. The fans were also there and here in politics. I just tell athletes not to swear on TV. But I don't know what to do, this has never happened before. We never had to deal with that. I think they should have freedom of speech and say whatever they want,” he said.
